body sculptures

In my photographic performances, I use my body to express what moves me inside. The two works were created at the beginning of 2022, immediately after the end of the pandemic, when the next crisis was already looming. With the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, a war began that, despite its geographical distance, had a direct impact on us and continues to this day. The work Denkerin (Thinker) refers to Auguste Rodin’s famous sculpture “The Thinker.” Anderswo (Elsewhere) addresses an image that was posted on Instagram at the same time. It depicted Ukrainian female soldiers holding their steel helmets under their chests—a gesture indicating that the decision to fight was made with conviction and heart.
